The bank title "BANQUE NATIONALE DE LA RÉPUBLIQUE D'HAÏTI" is inscribed in bold lettering across the top, with the denomination "UNE GOURDE" in a dark panel at the base of the vignette, below which the legal tender clause and three manuscript signature lines for Le Président, Le Directeur, and Un Administrateur appear. A light multicolor guilloche underprint in pale blue and rose fills the field.

Reverse description Printed in dark brown on white paper, the reverse is dominated by an elaborate intaglio composition centered on a circular vignette of the Haitian National Coat of Arms — a palm tree surmounted by a Phrygian cap, flanked by cannons, cannonballs, an anchor, a drum, and flags — enclosed within a dense arc of legal text. Large ornamental "G" monogram cartouches anchor the left and right margins, surrounded by intricate lathe-work guilloche borders with scalloped outer edges. The denomination "UNE GOURDE" is set in a rectangular panel at the bottom center, with the printer's imprint "AMERICAN BANK NOTE COMPANY." beneath.
