| Reverse description | The centre of the note is occupied by an oval intaglio vignette of the Haitian National Coat of Arms — a palm tree flanked by two cannons, flags, a drum, cannonballs, and other military trophies — enclosed within a circular legend band. The title 'BANQUE NATIONALE DE LA RÉPUBLIQUE D'HAÏTI' arcs along the outer border in bold engraved lettering, while large numeral '1' counters appear at left and right within dense lathe-work panels. The denomination 'UNE GOURDE' is repeated in a rectangular cartouche at the foot of the design, with the printer's imprint 'AMERICAN BANK NOTE COMPANY.' below. |
