Obverse description	Central vignette of Toussaint L'Ouverture (1744–1803), leader of the Haitian Revolution, rendered in intaglio portrait style. The issuing authority inscription and denomination appear within guilloche-bordered panels above and below the portrait. The overall design is framed by an intricate geometric underprint with ornamental corner devices.
Obverse lettering	BANQUE DE LA RÉPUBLIQUE D'HAÏTI UNE GOURDE CE BILLET ÉMIS CONFORMÉMENT, À LA CONSTITUTION LA RÉPUBLIQUE D'HAÏTI, EST PAYABLE AU PORTEUR EN MONNAIE LÉGALE DES ÉTATS-UNIS D'AMÉRIQUE AU TAUX DE CINQ GOURDES POUR UN DOLLAR. (Translation: Bank of the Republic of Haiti, One Gourde, This banknote, issued in accordance with the constitution of the Republic of Haiti, is payable to the holder in legal currency of the United States of America at the rate of Five Gourdes for a dollar.)
Reverse description	Central oval vignette enclosing the Haitian National Coat of Arms — a palm tree flanked by crossed cannons, flags, and anchors atop a drum, with the motto scroll below — set within a radiating guilloche surround. Large denomination numerals and gourde-symbol counters appear to each side of the central vignette, framed by an elaborate geometric guilloche border. The issuing bank name is inscribed in a solid panel at the top, and the denomination in large serif lettering across the lower register, with a payment clause legend beneath.
