The Banque Nationale de la République d'Haïti had its note production contracted to the American Bank Note Company throughout most of the early twentieth century, a relationship reflecting Haiti's financial entanglement with the United States following the 1915 occupation and the restructuring of Haitian banking under American supervision. The ABNC's New York presses handled the full range of denominations for this series across a span of several years, with date ranges on individual notes making precise year attribution difficult — the 1935–1942 window is broad enough that some examples may predate and others postdate the formal end of the U.S. financial receivership in 1941.
