| Reverse description | A large heart-shaped heraldic shield, displaying the arms of the Archbishopric of Trier — a cross on the dexter half and a diaper (lozengy) pattern on the sinister half — is centrally positioned within a trefoil frame. The shield is rendered in high relief with fine surface detail, set against a plain field enclosed by a beaded inner border. The overall composition reflects the standard Gothic armorial type employed on Rhenish ecclesiastical goldgulden of the period. The encircling legend in uncial characters identifies the mint of Wesel. |
