Obverse description Facing half-length figure of Saint Peter, nimbed and bearded, enthroned within a Gothic archway flanked by two towers, holding a scepter in his right hand and a book (Bible) in his left. The architectural canopy above features Gothic tracery typical of Rhenish goldgulden design. Below the saint, a heraldic shield bearing the arms of the Archbishopric of Trier is displayed at the base of the archway. A beaded inner circle surrounds the central design, with the circular legend in Gothic uncial characters occupying the outer field.
