Reverse description Central quartered shield of the Archbishopric of Trier — bearing the arms of Trier, flanked by the shields of the four electoral Rhine archbishoprics arranged in a quatrefoil or trefoil grouping within a beaded inner circle. The arms displayed include the cross of Trier at centre, with flanking shields depicting a cross, a wheel, and a lion, consistent with the heraldic arrangement of the Rhenish electoral league goldgulden. The surrounding legend WERNERVS ARCHIEPS TREV., identifying Archbishop Werner of Falkenstein, runs between the inner and outer beaded borders.
