Reverse description Three heraldic shields arranged in trefoil formation around a central pellet, each shield borne on a separate arm of the composition: the arms of Mainz to the right, Palatinate-Bavaria below, and Trier-Baden to the left. The arrangement evokes the tripartite alliance of the Rhenish Electoral arch-chancellors. The monetary legend runs continuously in the outer field between two beaded borders, identifying this as a new gold coinage struck at Riehl.
