Obverse description Quartered shield of arms at center, combining the arms of Erbach (roses and mullets) with those of Mainz (wheel), superimposed over a long cross that extends to the beaded border and divides the surrounding legend. The four quadrants of the shield display alternating heraldic devices characteristic of the Schenk von Erbach family impaled with the ecclesiastical arms of the Archbishopric of Mainz.
