A nimbus with beaded border surrounds the saint's head. The shield of the Palatinate arms is placed in the lower field beneath the figure. The surrounding Gothic legend in uncial characters reads ROPERT E LEC ECL EO, referencing Rupert as archbishop-elect of Cologne. |
