Obverse description Bare-headed right-facing bust of King Ludwig I of Bavaria occupies the central field, rendered in high relief with finely detailed wavy hair. The portrait is restrained and classical in style, characteristic of the engraving work of Carl Friedrich Voigt. The circular Latin legend LUDWIG I KOENIG VON BAYERN runs along the periphery, separated from the bust by an inner border of fine dentils.

Reverse description The reverse displays a panoramic cityscape of Würzburg, showing the city's skyline with prominent towers, the Marienberg Fortress on the right, and the River Main in the foreground, all rendered in fine engraved detail. Above the city view, the denomination legend EIN GOLD GULDEN is inscribed in two lines across the upper field. Below the city view, the inscription S.P.Q.W. appears in the lower field, an abbreviation for Senatus Populusque Wirceburgensis, a reference to the Senate and People of Würzburg. The design is framed by a dentilated border.
