Above the shield, two crossed croziers or keys are visible as archiepiscopal insignia. The armorial composition is executed in the Gothic heraldic tradition typical of late 14th-century Rhenish ecclesiastical coinage. A beaded inner circle surrounds the central device, with the circumferential legend in uncial lettering identifying the issuing authority as Vicar of the Church of Cologne. |
