Reverse description Central shield bearing the arms of the Archbishopric of Cologne — a plain cross on a divided field — set within an ornate Gothic quatrefoil or trefoil frame with decorative cusping and beaded border. Above the shield, two crossed croziers or keys are visible as archiepiscopal insignia. The armorial composition is executed in the Gothic heraldic tradition typical of late 14th-century Rhenish ecclesiastical coinage. A beaded inner circle surrounds the central device, with the circumferential legend in uncial lettering identifying the issuing authority as Vicar of the Church of Cologne.
