Obverse description Standing frontal figure of Saint Peter, depicted in long robes and nimbus, holding a long cross-staff in his right hand and a book or key in his left, flanked by two ornate architectural columns or towers in the Gothic style. The figure stands upon a decorative base, and the overall composition closely follows the Florentine goldgulden prototype. A circular Gothic uncial legend borders the design, reading S. PETRVS, separated by small stops.
