Obverse description Saint Peter enthroned in a Gothic architectural setting, depicted in frontal view upon an ornate gothic throne, holding his attributes in the manner typical of Rhenish goldgulden of the period. Below the seated figure, a shield bearing the arms of the Münzenberg lordship is prominently displayed in the field. The design follows the Florentine goldgulden tradition adapted for the Rhenish ecclesiastical coinage, with the figure rendered in low relief within a beaded inner circle. A Gothic uncial legend surrounds the central device, separated from the outer rim by a beaded border.
