| Beschrijving voorzijde | Enthroned frontal figure of Saint Peter, patron saint of Trier, seated on a throne and depicted in episcopal robes with a nimbus (halo) about his head. The saint holds a processional cross in his left hand and raises his right hand in benediction. A shield bearing the arms of the Archbishopric of Trier (a cross) is displayed on his chest, and a second armorial shield appears below at his feet. The field is densely populated with ornamental crosses and decorative foliage elements in the late Gothic style, with a beaded border encircling the entire design. The surrounding legend in uncial characters reads: CVnO AREPS TRE (Kuno, Archbishop of Trier). |
