(Translation: Kuno, archbishop of Trier.)
Reverse description Saint John the Baptist stands facing in full figure, nimbed and bearded, clad in a long robe with finely engraved drapery folds. He holds a long-stemmed cross-staff in his right hand and raises his left hand in blessing, with a small Agnus Dei (Lamb of God) resting on his left arm, consistent with the Florentine gulden tradition. To the upper left, a small heraldic eagle — the arms of the Archbishopric of Trier — appears in the field beside the saint's head. A circular legend in Gothic uncial characters surrounds the entire composition.
