Reverse description A long cross with extended arms divides the field into four quarters, over which is superimposed a large heraldic shield bearing the quartered arms of Jülich-Berg — lions passant in opposing quarters with additional armorial charges at the centre point. The surrounding border carries an uncial Latin circular legend reading MONE - NOVA - AVRE MV Lh, denoting the monetary authority and denomination. The die work is characteristic of late 15th-century Rhenish hammered gold coinage.
