Obverse description Central field dominated by a large, stylized fleur-de-lis rendered in the Florentine goldgulden tradition, with boldly modeled petals and pronounced curling foliate elements at the base. The lily rises from a decorated stem terminating in a tri-lobed foot, with smaller ornamental devices flanking the upper petals. A circular beaded inner border frames the design, with the Latin legend distributed around the periphery within the outer rim.

Reverse description Full-length frontal figure of Saint John the Baptist, the patron saint of Florence whose type was adopted for Rhenish goldguldens, standing on a decorated platform. The saint is depicted nimbed, with long hair and beard, wearing a hair-shirt garment, his right hand raised in blessing and his left hand holding a book or orb. Flanking the figure are small heraldic devices and cross symbols. The circular Latin legend surrounds the composition within a beaded border.
