| Beschrijving voorzijde | Quartered heraldic shield displayed within a beaded inner circle, the quarters alternating between three mountain peaks (the arms of Schwarzburg) and a rampant lion (the arms of the Bishopric of Würzburg), rendered in the Gothic style typical of late 14th-century German ecclesiastical coinage. The shield is set against a plain field enclosed by a beaded border. The circumscription in Gothic uncial letters reads + GERhARDVS EPS hERBIPOLEnSIS, identifying the issuing bishop, and runs between the inner beaded circle and the outer milled rim. |
