Obverse description Full-length effigy of King Frederik I standing facing, crowned and robed in royal attire, holding a sceptre in his right hand and an orb in his left. The figure is rendered in the late Gothic style typical of early sixteenth-century Scandinavian coinage. Two heraldic shields are visible at the base of the design, flanking the king's feet. The circular Latin legend runs along the inner border of the coin, separated from the field by a beaded inner circle.
