| Beschrijving voorzijde | Saint Peter enthroned in three-quarter view facing right, depicted in full pontifical vestments with a nimbus behind his head; in his left hand he holds a long patriarchal cross and in his right hand the keys of Heaven. The figure is rendered in the Gothic style characteristic of Rhenish goldgulden of the early fifteenth century, flanked by Gothic architectural canopy elements. A continuous Latin legend runs around the periphery of the field. |

The trefoil motif is a characteristic device of Cologne goldgulden of this period, with the shields rendered in high relief against the hammered gold field. A Latin legend encircles the entire design. |
