Obverse description Central field displays the crowned Danish lion rampant facing left, rendered in bold relief with fine mane detailing and characteristic cross-tipped tail. The lion is set within an ornate cartouche of scrolling strapwork, filling the square klippe flan. A royal crown surmounts the composition at the upper point of the diamond-oriented planchet. A plain raised border frames the entire design, following the square outline of the flan.

Reverse description The reverse bears a bold three-line inscription in large Roman capital letters reading '1 / GOLT / GILDEN' centered in the field, with the date '1564' in Arabic numerals below, flanked by pellet stops. The legend is contained within a raised plain border that follows the square klippe outline, with the numerals and lettering in high relief against a flat ground. The composition is strictly typographic with no figurative elements, emphasizing the denomination and date in the vernacular tradition of 16th-century Danish gold coinage.
