| Description du revers | The crowned figure of the Madonna, seated and facing front, holds the Christ Child on her lap; the composition is placed at the upper center of the field with the date flanking the figures on either side. Below, a large crowned oval shield bearing the quartered arms of Bavaria is centered in the lower field, with the mintmaster's initials CZ appearing to the left and right of the shield. The encircling Latin legend on the reverse invokes the Virgin as a shield for all those who place their hope in her, all contained within a milled border consistent with the obverse. |
