| Obverse description | Central quartered heraldic shield displaying the arms of Holstein-Schaumburg-Pinneberg, flanked by elaborate foliate mantling and supported by decorative scrollwork. Three ornate crested helmets surmount the shield: the central helmet bearing a prominent plume of feathers, the lateral helmets adorned with wings and other heraldic crests. The surrounding legend in Latin characters runs along the inner edge of the coin's milled border, identifying Count Ernest III by title and style. |
