| Beschrijving keerzijde | Full-length frontal figure of Saint John the Baptist standing in the field, depicted with a nimbus, long beard, and draped robes, raising his right hand in a gesture of blessing while holding a long cross-staff in his left. The saint is rendered in a hieratic, stylized Gothic manner consistent with Rhenish ecclesiastical coinage of the mid-14th century. Small heraldic devices flank the figure on either side. A circular legend in Gothic uncial script surrounds the entire composition, identifying the patron saint. The design is closely modeled on the Florentine florin reverse tradition adapted for Cologne archiepiscopal coinage. |
