Obverse description Full frontal standing figure of St. Peter, patron saint, depicted holding a key in one hand and a book in the other, rendered in the late Gothic style characteristic of early sixteenth-century German coinage. A small shield bearing the four-fold arms of Baden is positioned beneath the figure in the lower field. The peripheral legend encircles the central device in uncial Latin script.
