| Obverse description | Full-length effigy of King Christian IV standing facing right, robed and crowned, holding a scepter in his right hand while his left hand rests near the pommel of his sword. The royal figure is set partially within a beaded (rope) inner circle, with the surrounding legend and date appearing in the outer field beyond the circle. The engraving reflects the elaborate Baroque portraiture style common to early seventeenth-century Danish coinage. |
