| Obverse description | Full-length effigy of King Christian IV standing facing right, robed and crowned, holding a scepter in his right hand while his left hand rests near the pommel of his sword. The royal figure is set partially within a beaded (rope) inner circle, with the surrounding legend and date appearing in the outer field beyond the circle. The engraving reflects the elaborate Baroque portraiture style common to early seventeenth-century Danish coinage. |

| Reverse description | A large ornate shield bearing the composite royal arms of Denmark surmounts a long-armed cross that extends to the coin's periphery. The Crown of Denmark is placed above the shield, nestled within the upper arm of the cross. The entire armorial composition is enclosed within a beaded (rope) inner circle, with the divided Latin legend occupying the four quarters of the outer field between the arms of the cross. The heraldic rendering is characteristic of the detailed Baroque die-cutting of the Danish Royal Mint in this period. |
