Obverse lettering IN MEMORIAM IVBILAEI EVANGELICI ANNO SECULARI M.D.C.XVII. CELEBRATI SENATVS REIPVBL. FRANCOFVRT.
Reverse description The reverse depicts the Angel of the Apocalypse in high relief at centre, shown as a winged figure with a nimbus, soaring above the earth and bearing an open book or scroll, referencing Revelation 14:6–7. An inner circular legend surrounds the central figure, reading FURCHTET GOTT UND GEBET IHM DIE EHR (Fear God and give him glory), with the scriptural citation APOC. XIV below the angel. The outer legend reads the Protestant motto VERBUM DOMINI MANET IN AETERNUM (The Word of the Lord endures forever), separated by cross stops. The composition reflects the fervent Lutheran iconography of the Reformation centenary.
