Reverse description Within a beaded inner circle, the full-length figure of Saint Lawrence stands facing, vested in clerical robes and holding his attribute, the gridiron, in his left hand, while his right hand is raised in a gesture of blessing or presentation. A palm frond, symbol of martyrdom, is visible at his side. The date 16-86 is divided at either side of the figure in the field. The surrounding legend SANCTUS LAURENTIUS arcs around the inner circle, all within a milled border.
