| Beschrijving voorzijde | Facing enthroned effigy of Charlemagne in full imperial regalia, depicted frontally with crown, orb, and sceptre, the figure rendered in high relief in the medieval hammered style. The city arms of Aachen appear on a small shield below the throne. The last two digits of the date (92) are incorporated into the field flanking the figure. The circumferential Latin legend reads MO. REGIÆ. SEDIS. VRBIS. AQVISGR., identifying the coin as the money of the royal seat of the city of Aachen. |

| Beschrijving keerzijde | Displayed crowned imperial double-headed eagle with wings spread, an orb on the breast bearing the Imperial cross, referencing the authority of Emperor Rudolf II. The circumferential Latin legend contains the imperial titles of Rudolf II with the date appearing at the end of the inscription. The design follows the standard late-16th-century Holy Roman Empire typology for gold coinage of free imperial cities. |
