Reverse description A crowned imperial orb set within a pointed trilobe frame occupies the central field, with the last two digits of the date (89) flanking the orb on either side, denoting the year 1589. The circumferential legend records the imperial titles of Rudolf II, Holy Roman Emperor, in abbreviated Latin. The trilobe design is characteristic of Rhenish goldgulden coinage of the period, and the overall composition follows the established iconographic conventions of the imperial monetary tradition.
