| Beschrijving keerzijde | A full-length, facing figure of St. Lawrence, patron saint of Nuremberg, stands in the central field rendered in a formal Gothic style. The saint is depicted wearing ecclesiastical vestments, holding a palm frond in one hand and a gridiron — the instrument of his martyrdom — in the other. A nimbus surrounds his head, and the figure is framed by a beaded inner circle. The surrounding circular legend in Gothic uncial letters names the saint, separated by a break at the lower field, consistent with the Rhenish goldgulden tradition. |
