Obverse description Displayed imperial eagle with spread wings occupies the central field, bearing a shield on its breast charged with the letter 'N' within a square, identifying Nuremberg as the issuing authority. The eagle is rendered in the bold, stylized Gothic manner typical of late 15th-century German municipal coinage. A circular legend in Gothic uncial letters runs along the coin's periphery, enclosed between beaded inner and outer borders. The hammered flan produces a characteristically irregular outline, with slight surface undulation visible across the field.
