Reverse description An ornate floriated cross occupies the central field, with a rosette at its center, set within a quadrilobe frame. The spandrels formed by the exterior angles of the quadrilobe are filled with trefoil ornaments, lending the design a characteristic Gothic decorative quality. The overall composition reflects the refined Burgundian die-cutting tradition of the early fifteenth century. The peripheral legend in Latin uncial script encircles the entire design.
