| Beschrijving voorzijde | Central field displays a floriated cross composed of four elaborate lis-tipped arms, each canton adorned with a heraldic device or floral ornament in the Gothic tradition characteristic of late medieval gold écus. The cross is rendered in high relief with decorative foliage filling the spaces between the arms. A circular inner beaded border frames the design, with the Latin legend running between the inner and outer borders. The overall composition follows the traditional écu au soleil/croix de style associated with ecclesiastical gold coinage of the Prince-Bishopric of Liège. |
