背面描述 A large, elaborately detailed royal crown with orb and cross surmount occupies the central field, set within a beaded inner circle. The crown is rendered in fine relief with pellets and trefoils adorning the arch and band. The surrounding Latin legend, separated from the central device by a beaded border, reads NORWEGIÆ VANDA GOTTOR REX DOMI PROVIDEBIT, attributing to Frederik III the titles of King of Norway, the Wends, and the Goths, with the motto affirming divine providence.

附加信息

Frederik III's reign was defined by the catastrophic losses of the Roskilde Peace in 1658, when Denmark ceded Scania, Blekinge, and Halland to Sweden — but this piece dates to an earlier, quieter moment in his rule, before those territorial disasters reshaped Scandinavian power permanently. The gold crown coinage of the 1650s was issued in small quantities, and surviving examples are scarce regardless of condition.

Fr#120 distinguishes this as the Friedberg-referenced type, placing it within a narrow sequence of Danish gold that few collections ever fill completely.
