Reverse description The Holy Door of Saint Peter's Basilica, opened for the Jubilee Year of 1625, is depicted in architectural elevation at centre, rendered as a classical portico with pediment decorated with an angel head at apex and flanking pilasters. Suspended within the doorway is the Veil of Veronica bearing the face of Christ. The abbreviation RO to the left and MA to the right of the doorway denotes ROMA. The date 1625 appears in the exergue below the doorway. The circumferential legend, separated by pellet stops, encircles the entire design within a beaded border.
