| Obverse description | Pontifical shield of arms of Pope Julius II (della Rovere), displaying the oak tree device of his family, set within an ornate pointed oval cartouche surmounted by the papal tiara and crossed keys. The shield is rendered in high relief in the late-medieval hammered style. The circular legend around the field reads IVLIVS·II· PONT·MAX·, identifying the pontiff by name and title. |

| Reverse description | Three standing figures of saints occupying the full field: at centre, Saint Mark in episcopal vestments holding a book, flanked to the left by Saint Paul bearing a sword and to the right by Saint Peter holding the keys of Heaven. A small Anconan civic shield appears at the base between the figures. The saints are identified by the circular legend distributed around the field, rendered in a bold Gothic-influenced hammered style typical of early sixteenth-century Papal coinage. |
