Obverse description Draped bust of Pope Adrian VI facing left, wearing an ornately embroidered papal cope with a decorative clasp visible at center, his hair rendered in short curls at the nape. The effigy is rendered in high relief in the Renaissance manner, set within a plain inner border. The circular Latin legend surrounds the bust along the outer rim, reading HADRIANVS SEXTVS P MAX, identifying the pontiff as Adrian VI, Supreme Pontiff.
