Both busts are shown with elaborate curled hair adorned with floral decoration at the juncture, rendered in fine relief. A denomination mark appears to the right in the field. | Beschrijving keerzijde | Central shield bearing the word LIBERTAS on a diagonal band, surmounted by a ducal crown adorned with fleurs-de-lis. The crowned arms are supported on either side by rampant griffins, the traditional heraldic supporters of the Republic of Genoa. The circumferential legend DVX·ET·GVP REIP·GENV is distributed around the shield, referencing the Doge and Governors of the Republic. The date 1668 is prominently displayed in the lower exergual area, all within a toothed border. |
