Obverse description Central round hole flanked by the state name in Latin script above, reading 'LIBAN' arranged along the upper rim, and in Arabic script below, reading 'لبنان', arranged along the lower rim. The date '1940' appears in two parts flanking the central hole at mid-field, with '19' to the left and '40' to the right, accompanied by the mintmaster's mark 'C' below the numerals. The design is plain and utilitarian, with all legends incuse into the flat field.

Reverse description Central round hole surrounded by the denomination inscribed in both Latin and Arabic scripts. The Latin legend 'UNE PIASTRE' arcs along the upper portion of the rim, while the Arabic inscription 'غرش واحد' (One Piastre) arcs along the lower portion. The Arabic date '١٩٤٠' is distributed in two parts flanking the central hole, mirroring the obverse date placement. The reverse field is otherwise plain, with a flat, unadorned surface typical of wartime emergency pattern coinage.
