Obverse description Central round hole surrounded by a wreath composed of laurel branches on the left and oak branches on the right, tied at the base with a ribbon bow. The Arabic legend دولة لبنان الكبير arcs across the upper field, while the French legend ETAT DU GRAND LIBAN curves along the lower field. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded border. The composition is rendered in a refined medallic style characteristic of the Monnaie de Paris.

Reverse description Central round hole flanked symmetrically by two facing lion-head medallions set within foliate sprays of olive or laurel branches. The Arabic denomination غرش واحد arcs across the upper field above the hole. Below the hole, the numeral 1 appears on each side of the word PIASTRE in Latin script, with the date rendered in both Western Arabic numerals and Eastern Arabic-Indic numerals (e.g. 1931 · ١٩٣١) in the lower exergue. The whole design is enclosed within a beaded border.
