Obverse description Central shield bearing the Transylvanian arms: an eagle displayed in the upper half and seven towers (representing the seven fortified Saxon cities) in the lower half, flanked by two decorative scrolled supports. The mint mark N-B (for Nagybánya / Baia Mare) appears at the base of the shield. A circular beaded border frames the design, with the abbreviated Latin legend running continuously around the periphery.

Reverse description A large royal crown depicted in high relief dominates the center of the reverse, with the date 16-25 split to either side of the crown. Below the crown, the denomination legend GROSSVS REGNI TRANSYL is inscribed in three lines across the field, identifying this as a groschen of the Kingdom of Transylvania. The design is framed by a beaded outer border typical of hammered small silver coinage of the period.
