| Beschrijving voorzijde | Central shield bearing the Transylvanian arms: an eagle displayed in the upper half and seven castles (representing the seven fortified Saxon towns) in the lower half, surmounted by a royal crown. The shield is set within a beaded inner circle, surrounded by a continuous Latin legend reading the abbreviated titles of Prince Gabriel Bethlen. The overall style is characteristic of early 17th-century hammered Central European coinage. |
