Obverse description Central field features the quartered arms of Hungary and Transylvania within an ornate shield, incorporating the characteristic Hungarian horizontal bars and the Transylvanian eagle and sun motifs. The shield is surmounted by a small royal crown and flanked by decorative elements. A circular beaded inner border separates the shield from the outer legend. The peripheral legend reads GABRIEL D G P TRANSYLVANIÆ in Latin capitals, running clockwise around the coin's circumference.

Reverse description Central field depicts the Virgin Mary as Patrona Hungariae, shown seated or standing on a crescent moon, holding the infant Christ child, all within a beaded inner circle. The mintmark CM (for Košice/Kassa) appears in the field flanking the central figure, along with the date of issue. The peripheral legend PATRONA HVNGARIÆ followed by the date runs in Latin capitals around the outer border, enclosed between two beaded circles consistent with hammered coinage of the period.
