Bar scrip of this kind — a printed token redeemable for a single drink at the issuing establishment — was common across small-town Wisconsin through the mid-to-late twentieth century, typically handed out as promotional currency during events, radio contests, or grand openings. The Landing Strip name almost certainly references proximity to a local airfield; Waupaca County has operated a general aviation airport since the postwar period, and bars near small regional airports frequently branded around that association.
Genuinely local ephemera. Few were preserved with any intention.
