| Obverse description | Bare-headed effigy of King Frederik VI facing left, rendered in moderate relief with naturalistically styled hair. The portrait is set within a recessed circular field bordered by a finely executed radial line or toothed inner border. The encircling Latin legend reads FREDERICUS VI REX DANIÆ, interrupted by the portrait, and runs along the upper periphery of the square klippe flan. The overall design reflects the neoclassical portrait style prevalent in early nineteenth-century Danish coinage. |
