Beschrijving keerzijde Central design features a stylized ancient Illyrian galley rendered in profile, occupying the middle ground of the field. The vessel displays a curved stern post with scroll terminal, a lion-head ram at the bow, a central cabin or deck structure, and a long oar extending to the lower right. A stalk of wheat lies diagonally beneath the hull. The denomination 1 Fr.A appears prominently above the galley, flanked to the left by the date 1927 and a small five-pointed star. The word PROVA (trial) is inscribed along the lower rim, with the Vienna mint mark V directly below.

Aanvullende informatie

The 1927 Albanian frang ar was issued under Ahmet Zogu's government as the country established its first modern national currency following independence. KM#Pr20 designates this as a pattern strike — produced for official approval rather than general circulation, making survivors genuinely scarce. Albania's monetary system at the time was being built largely from scratch, with Italian financial interests heavily involved in structuring the new franc-based system through the National Bank of Albania, founded just a year earlier in 1926.

Pattern pieces from this series were struck in Rome at the Italian state mint.
