| 裏面の説明 | The denomination is displayed prominently at center within an elaborate eight-pointed star formed by interlacing geometric bands in the Moorish tradition, filling the entire field. The numeral '1' and the Latin legend 'FRANC' appear in bold relief at mid-center, flanked above and below by the equivalent Arabic inscriptions denoting the value. The entire composition is framed by multiple layers of arabesque and geometric ornamental borders that extend to the coin's milled edge. |

Struck for Morocco while it remained under the French Protectorate established in 1912, this issue was produced at the Paris Mint during a period when the Makhzen's fiscal autonomy had been almost entirely absorbed into French colonial administration. The Banque d'État du Maroc, nominally a multinational institution, was in practice dominated by French financial interests and controlled the coinage program directly.
Yusuf reigned as Sultan from 1912 to 1927, his rule beginning the same year the protectorate was imposed — a coincidence that defined the character of every coin struck in his name.
